Dr. Lori A. Timmons

Lori Timmons, BSN, MS, MBA, DNP, NEA-BC, CDN is recognized in the nursing community for her strategic leadership in change planning, implementation, and evaluation for healthcare facilities. More specifically, Dr. Timmons is known for her ability to engage employees and stakeholders in creating calm, transparent environments while navigating complex adaptive systems. As a Director at Harris Health System since 2016, Dr. Timmons is accountable for the strategic, operational, and financial management of Dialysis Services in this large safety net setting. This role necessitates expert knowledge of and compliance with the state and federal regulatory requirements. She is a member of the project and planning team for the newly redesigned Harris Health System Dialysis Center at Quentin Mease Health Center, formerly Quentin Mease Hospital. Dr. Timmons recently received a national leadership award from the Daisy Foundation in recognition of contributions to Harris Health. Prior to her role with Harris Health, Dr. Timmons worked for a private nephrology group with whom she was engaged in acquiring and developing new dialysis services. In addition, Dr. Timmons has served as a renal nurse consultant throughout Texas. As a community leader, Dr. Timmons serves as a Director on two Executive Boards. She shares her corporate governance experience and skills as Board President of the Northwest Harris County MUD #24. Dr. Timmons also serves as Board Secretary and Vice President of Communications for Texas Executive Women, a non-profit organization providing mentoring and scholarship programs for young women. In these roles, she works collaboratively with fellow board members to facilitate fiscal stewardship and organizational sustainability by adopting ethical, legal governance, and financial management policies. Dr. Timmons holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston-Downtown. In addition, Dr. Timmons holds two professional certifications, Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA- BC) and is a Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN). She also is a current member of several professional organizations.
