Abenaa Bailey M.Ed.
Abenaa Bailey is a lobbyist, Educator. and an entrepreneur with a passion for bringing positive change to her community and the amazing people who are a part of it. Although her career began in the private education industry, Abenaa has since branched out her services to include healthcare and public administration. She is an avid volunteer in her community and is a strong advocate of public service. She successfully entered the business world by founding, A Plus Academy, a private school dedicated to educating students who suffer from learning disabilities; the founder of ECI Healthcare, a private consulting agency for the healthcare industry; and she is the former CEO/ founder of the Texas Women’s Society, a nonprofit organization designed to help victims of domestic violence get back on their feet. Throughout the course of her career, Abenaa has built a reputation as an avid believer in community collaboration through volunteerism. For Abenaa, the present may be what she’s giving her attention to, but it is the future that she places all her focus and hope on. Abenaa approaches every problem with an open mind, a commitment to succeed, and trust in the amazing abilities of the people in her community. Abenaa speaks to the women at Star of Hope women who went through abuse from their spouse. Abenaa was a special guest on the Steve Harvey Show in 2016. Her peerless leadership abilities, as well as her ability to bring out the best in those around her, have made Abenaa a trusted partner among organizations seeking to gain rapid forward momentum towards their goals, and Abenaa is proud of the opportunity to serve so many wonderful clients over the course of her career. Among her many professional accolades, Abenaa is also the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions for her outstanding work in education and ending domestic abuse against women. She received the Bring Awareness to Domestic Violence award from Couture Lifestyle Magazine. Abenaa received a Texas RESOLUTION from the former Texas House of Representatives Sylvester Turner in 2014 for her contribution to helping women get back on their feet via the Texas Women’s Society. Abenaa received DMARS 2021 Top 50 Black Professional & Entrepreneurs of Texas awards, SME 2021 Top 20 Influential & Professionals ‘award, and May 27, 2021 Abenaa will receive Women on the rise award from Devine Creations. Abenaa is an active member of the Higher Heights for America PAC, the only political action committee exclusively dedicated to electing more progressive Black women at the federal and statewide levels and as mayors in the 100 most populated U.S. cities. In 2021, Abenaa was selected as honorary advisor with The Hartford's Insurance Network Inner Circle Community. In January of 2015, Abenaa served on the advisory board of Changing the Face of Houston, a nonprofit organization located in Houston, Texas, a city with the second highest employment growth in the country that is also known as the energy capital of the world, according to Forbes. Abenaa holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Union Institute & University. She is an active member in a variety of organizations and a regular contributor to breast cancer awareness projects, the Star of Hope, and the Houston Area Women's Center.
