Sheroo Mukhtiar is the Chief Executive Officer for SERJobs. Her commitment to the nonprofit sector has spanned over 30 years, across four states and six community-based organizations. Sheroo’s experiences have allowed her to develop a wealth of knowledge and skills to create strategic growth and impact.
At SERJobs, over the last five+ years, Sheroo has focused on growing the organization. Beginning with the transition to the Workforce Opportunity Center in 2018, SERJobs has expanded to now include a state-of-the-art Workforce Resource and Training Center and has satellite sites in 17 locations across the Gulf Coast. With a diverse portfolio of funding and collaborative efforts, SERJobs is a recognized and valued workforce development organization in and around Houston.
Sheroo earned a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a Bachelor of Social Work from India and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Social Work from the University of Houston. She completed Leadership Houston, Class 34 and the American Leadership Forum, Class 48 among other leadership programs.
Sheroo serves on the board of the Indo-American Political Action Committee of Greater Houston (IAPAC) and is a member of the Texas Executive Women.
Outside of work, Sheroo's life revolves around her family and their pets. They also love to travel and experience different cultures and cuisines from around the world.
